China: The best grossing foreign film in China this year is US/UK production Tenet, currently ranked No.10 in the country. In total, 9 films with the UK listed as a production country have been released in China in 2020 (7 in 2019), with respect to the release of these films in China, Tenet topped the box-office in 2020. From this, 3 were re-released titles (Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone, Interstellar & Inception) and most were imported under the US quota due to the nature of these productions. The last #CJCinermaSummit of 2020 took place on Dec 17th. Since launching there have been 31 Summits to date including the Special APAC Event. Little did we know when the Summit started that it would be broadcasting out to to 96 countries worldwide with contributions and insights from international, national, regional and independent cinemas, distributors, vendors, suppliers and festivals.
